Well, so everything is in motion now. This has been my first week as a student at the URJC to become a teacher in the near future. Being a teacher is an idea I have always fantasised about, so the moment I found out I had been accepted was a very happy moment for me. However, I must confess that I am more nervous than excited right now. I have not been a student for the past two years, and although it may not be a long time for some of you, I think it is going to be a challenge for me in some ways.
This Monday was the first day of class, and it was Michael the one who welcomed us with Innovación educativa y TICs aplicadas a la enseñanza. This is where I make my second confession of the post: I am not very good at computer science, I have never been, so this subject makes me feel a bit uneasy. But joking apart, although I am a bit sceptical about everything related to this blog, I think this subject will be of great use to me. Today, ICTs are a vital part of our lives, and if you ask me, they will be even more important in the future.
As a student I have had a recurring feeling, which is that education as well as those responsible for developing it, were disconnected from the reality of the students. Incorporating social networks and computer science into education seems of great importance to me, as you are incorporating aspects from their daily lives into their learning process, bringing students closer to what they study.
And that’s all for today’s post. As I said before, the path ahead of us intimidates me, but I am willing to pursue it.
