TASK 4:
GAME-BASED LESSON PLAN

For this task, we had to design a lesson plan using games, that is, a Game-Based Learning lesson plan. We have always played and learned through games, so why not play in class in order to learn? Game-Based Learning entails many benefits for students, such as responsibility, attention, order, or companionship. And, in addition, through this type of dynamics students can train many skills such as observation, imagination, or intelligence. I believe that by including this type of classroom activities from time to time, students’ attention and behavior will improve, as their motivation will be encouraged, while they are in touch with the class contents. There are many possibilities and all this in a cooperative way, which is another point in favour.
For this task, I chose the game Time’s Up! I first played this game last summer, and after playing with some friends I directly went to buy it. It is a game I love, I always have a good time while playing it. In my experience as a teacher, students love this kind of game. In this case, I have used as an example personal descriptions, but the good thing about this game is that it can be adapted to a lot of different contents such as cities, objects, clothing, feelings... Any type of content can be adapted to Time’s Up! If you have not played it yet, I strongly recommend it.
